你如果把报复 (vengeance) 懂成我们中国人讲的「报应」,就不难了解了. 当初我为了忠於原文,避免有「润饰」之嫌,把它直译为「报复」,不只我们听起来不顺耳,英文读者一样觉得脑子得转好几个弯才能猜出它的意思.
