but I can't see just where the footprints go. 但我不能看到的只是其中的脚印走。

Is it a casual disappearance? --- 它是一个休闲的消失？ ---

Plucked from the middle atmosphere 从中层大气弹拨

like straw wind-blown. 像稻草风吹。

No speck on the horizon --- 无斑点在地平线上---

no simple message scrawled 没有简单的消息潦草

upon the snow. 在雪地里。

   

Unearthly visitation --- 神秘的探视---

someone left their snow-shoes in the tundra. 有人留下了他们的雪鞋在苔原。

Hungry buzzard flier 饥饿的秃鹰飞

circling round and round 盘旋了一圈又一圈

rattling death's tambourine. 剑拔弩张死亡的手鼓。

   

Have to run it down the cold wire --- 有跑下来的冷加工线材---

late insertion in tomorrow's lost and found. 晚插在明天的失物招领。

Should I spread out searching? 我要传出去寻找？

But I'm a little thin upon the ground. 但我在地上有点薄。

   

So I raise my lips to coax 所以，我提出我的嘴唇哄

the last drop of brandy from the bottle. 白兰地从瓶中最后一滴。

Rest my feet and contemplate 休息，我的脚和思考
