At the normal state, porphyrin molecules do not have EPR signal. However, light excitation may cause a transition of porphyrin molecules from singlet to triplet. At the same time, the change from diamagnetism to paramagnetism occurred to porphyrin molecules. In this case, the two un-paired electrons are nearby each other and cause a strong interaction, giving EPR signal with sharp peak at g =2.000. The g value increased with an increase in electron cloud density.

Density Functional Theory in connection with accurate LCAO basis sets and norm-conserving pseudopotentials were used to study two issues which are (1) The Selective Functionalization of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes with Diazonium Radical and (2) The Molecular Dynamic Simulated IR Spectrum of Adsorbed C3H3 and I on the Ag(111) Surface.For the first, we investigated (1) NO2C6H4 direct addition (2) NO2C6H4N2 dissociative addition reaction on semiconductor (8,0), metallic (9,0)and(5,5) carbon nanotubes.

IGMs are a kind of experimentally new-identified optical mode, standing with apparent potential in design and application. However, the mathematical expression of IGMs under Elliptic Cylindrical coordinates, preventing us from understanding IGMs instinctively, stands a formidable challenge in application. The pure mathematical expressions of IGMs are composed by a great deal of calculation, which also bids us no help in common use. I am, therefore, prompted to build an easier mathematical approach in this study.
