Two MMIC broadband diode frequency doublers using multi-conductor coupled-line Marchand baluns are implemented to demonstrate the design procedure of multi-conductor coupled-line Marchand baluns. The MMICs achieve miniature chip areas with broadband performances in millimeter-wave regime.

And some electrical tests and analysis were done to these devices, after multi-comparison of those devices' performance, some specific measures are proposed against lightning broken.

The influence of the line arrester on the lightning withstand level of 35kV transmission lines was simulated and calculated by electromagnetic transient software ATP-EMTP. The results show that the joining of line arrester can obviously improve the lightning withstand level of 35kV transmission lines, and is especially effective when the lightning directly strikes the conductor.
