I enjoy watching TV more than any other pastimes.

我喜欢看电视超过了别的消遣方式。

Today I am going talk about pastimes.

Then there are the alternative forms of entertainment so group outings are no longer the only choice for fun.

因为有了可以选择的娱乐方式，所以集体出游不再是消遣的唯一方式。

The first settlement was known as Yerba Buena, and the name was changed to San Francisco after control of the town passed to the United States in 1846. Discovery of gold nearby in 1848 changed the city from a small community into a thriving boom town known for its lawlessness and bawdy amusements.

Volunteers from youth groups, school and voluntary organizations pay regular visits and bring the residents for outdoor activities. Residents could also watch TV, VCD entertainment or sew during leisure hours.
