接着，文中通过研究交通结构优化追求的最终目标，提出了基于方式结构的城市交通运输效率函数，并以其为目标函数，结合城市居民的出行需求、交通环境容量、道路资源、交通可达性、交通能耗、各交通方式的发展规模等约束条件，建立了大城市客运交通结构优化的线性数学规划模型，以郑州市2010年的交通结构优化为实例，说明了模型参数的标定和求解方法。
