Physical activity is a well-recognized component of healthy lifestyles. Physical inactivity is a major risk factor for several chronic diseases. Although the benefits of regular physical activity on health have been well-demonstrated, the prevalence of physical inactive is still high in Taiwan. This study was designed to investigate the possible determinants of exercise participation. A stratified random sampling was applied to recruit subjects from seven districts in Tainan City.
