The liver oval cell line WB-F344 derives from adult normal Fisher 344 malerats.It's a kind of liver infantine epithelial cells and has characteristics of liver stemcells.Many studies in vitro and in vivo imply that it has the role as precursor cells ofhepatocacinoma,which indicates its function in hepatocarcinogenesis.

The JHU researchers prospectively examined changes in fibrosis stage between paired liver biopsies in 67 coinfected patients. Of the 67 subjects, six were excluded due to cirrhosis on the first biopsy. The median age of group was 44 years, and 75% of the subjects were men. A total of 86% had CD4+ cell counts of less than 200 cells/mm3, and the same number of subjects were receiving antiretroviral therapy. Twenty-seven percent of the patients abused alcohol. The median time between biopsies was 2.84 years (interquartile range, 2.05 - 3.41 years).

Objective To explore the effect of high serum concentration of bile acids on energy metabolism of liver.Methods Bile acids were continously infused into the Wistar rats to simulate the serum concentration change of patients with obsturctive jaundice.Serum bile acids concentration,arterial blood ketone body ratio and energy charge of liver were determined.Results Aterial blood ketone body ratio and energy charge of liver decreased with the increase of serum bile acids concentration.Conclusion High serum concentration of bile acids plays an important role in hepatic fumction injury caused by biliary obstruction.
