Having founded his own studio in Milan in 1953,he worked independently designing interiors,exhibitions,furniture,lighting,glassware,ceramics and electrical appliances for Brionvega,Poltronova,Knoll international,Venini and Kartell among others.In 1953,Asti began experimenting with plastics and in 1954 designed some highly sculptural and organic door handles,which were celebrated for their "plastic values".
