In this paper, the MM5 Adjoint Assimilation System is used to correct MM5's terrain error. The experimental results of amending different initial terrain data indicate that: the MM5 AAS is able to retrieve the terrain field, whose resolution is matched with one of the initial meteorological element field and therefore well coordinated with the MM5 model. Thus a new way about how to widely use the assimilation system is offered in this paper.

将伴随模式同化系统应用于修正模式地形误差，通过对不同初始地形的修正试验表明，MM5伴随模式同化系统能很好地对地形误差进行修正，能够反演出与初始气象要素场分辨率相匹配、与模式更协调的地形场，为伴随模式同化系统的广泛应用提供了一种新的思路。

This note is a revision and complement to [1]. Thus, we have revised the original estimation, which stated that theupper half of C_1 has asymptotic direction m=-a.

Four major factors that affect the efficiency of the variable-step modified Euler time integration method are discussed. These include stability and accuracy analysis for the damped fix-step modified Euler integration formula, adjustment method of the fix-step basic integration formula to accommodate step-size changes, suitable range of the step-size selection strategy based on truncation error concept and development of the step-size selection strategy based on apparent frequency concept to satisfied the specified error bound and stability condition.

The non-relativistic energies and wave functions were determined by Rayleigh-Ritz method. The relativistic effects, including the correction to kinetic energy, the electron-electron contact term, and the orbit-orbit interaction, Darwin term, and mass-polarization effect on the energies were calculated by using first-order perturbation theory. In order to obtain a more accurate result for the larger Z system, the quantum-electrodynamics correction should be included. This correction to energy can be evaluated for the valence electron by using a hydrogenic formula with an effective nuclear charge, Z. The ionization potential, the excitation energies and the fine structure split-tings for a lithium-like ion with higher nuclear charge (Z=26) were calculated.

One is Bardina vorticity modification, and the other is Richardson number modification. Prediction results show that Bardina method has a superior capacity to Richardson number modification. Since DSM model has improved predictive results of the reversed velocity and tangential velocity, it is a potential method to predict strong swirling nonisotropic turbulent flow in stead of the longer convergence time.
