Based on a survey findings to 168 new-type drug abusers in Yunnan,the author figured out that there are two major pernicious aspects on new-type drug abuse,such as on one hand,the perniciousness towards drug abusers physical condition and work abilities;on the other hand,the perniciousness towards drug abusers psychological states.

From the results, the prevalence rate of having chewing betel quids habit in their lifetime was 13.2%(men 26.3%, women 0.4%), and 9.8% were current chewers. It was estimated that about 24,000 adults in Chiayi City ever had the habit of betel quid chewing. Among them, most were technical workers(26.4%). For those who had the habit of betel quid chewing, there were 52.5% abusers. Such behavior was related to sex, age groups and martial status. For men above 50 years old, they more easily became abusers. Occupation and education were not related to abuse.

结果发现，嘉义市18岁以上嚼食槟榔盛行率方面曾有嚼食习惯者为13.2%（男性26.3%，女性0.4%），而目前仍有嚼食习惯者为9.8%，由此推估嘉义市成年人口约有2万4千人左右曾有嚼食槟榔习惯者，且以技术性工人为最高26.4%，槟榔嚼食者中达嚼食滥用者为52.5％，其嚼食滥用的行为与性别、年龄层及婚姻状态都有相关，男性年龄为50岁以上较容易成为嚼食滥用高危险群，而职业与教育程度则与此无关。

METHODS: Both diastolic and systolic blood pressures repeated measures data, collected from 120 drug abusers after taking two kinds of medicine (Drug A: Xiaoyinfuzheng, Drug B: Kelening), were analyzed by multivariate random coefficients model. The fixed effect parameters matrix x of model coefficients were estimated by using least squares estimation method, the effects between treatment groups were compared and the variancecovariance matrices of random effect were also estimated.
