Clinical thermometer that use generally to have glass outer cover such as mercurial thermometer ,etc. or by liquid form mainly, although this kind of clinical thermometer has characteristic such as being steady , ocular and strong of performance , it is easy and broken, can only be in the observing , such shortcomings as reading is slow of scene, and if the mercurial thermometer is apt to cause the environmental pollution.

一般用的体温计主要是以液态形式或是带有玻璃外壳如水银温度计等，这类体温计虽说具有性能稳定、直观性强等特点，但是也具有容易破碎、只能在现场观察、读数慢等缺点，而且如水银温度计容易造成环境污染。
