This paper analyzed the influence and rule of the setting for the key parameters, constant set, and operator set in GEP and proposed an improved GEP algorithm. The new algorithm was applied in the tunneling fields, and got the horizontal and vertical ground settlement formulas of Double-O-Tube shield. The experiment shows that the mined formulas may match the real value quite well.
