Experiments on decalcification and activation of osteoinductive ability, comparison between the osteogenesis of demineralized bone matrix in orthotopic and in heterotopic sites, and correlation between immune response to allograft of bone and osteoinductive activity of the graft, were reported in this paper. 1. Using a model of the muscle pouch of bone graft, the effects of the systemic and local administration of IL-4 plus IL-10 on bone xenograft rejection were studied through the determination of lymphocyte responses from the mixed lymphocyte culture , subsets of lymphocyte, cytokines and histology in 1, 2, 4, and 6 weeks after implantation.
