The results show that laser-arc welding can achieve full penetration by single-path butt jointing through appropriate parameters; Y shape groove with 8 mm truncated edge can enhance the penetration ability of laser-arc hybrid welding. Low welding speed is good for penetration, however the limitation still exists for hick plates joint. Gap is significant factor of penetration when work pieces is large thickness. The hardness of thick plates joint shows that there is big difference in mold of vertical thermal cycle using laser-arc hybrid welding.

The optical dot gain results from basically the light scattering in substrates. In ink-jet printing the ink penetration changes the optics of the coating of the substrates including the light scattering coefficient and absorption coefficient. So it affects the optical dot gain greatly. The application of Kubelka-Munk Theory in halftones is also studied, and so an ink penetration model is established using K-M theory. Pig oocytes cultured in vitro for some time were inseminated by frozen–thawed ejaculated sperm. At specified times after insemination, sperm penetration, cell cycle progression and mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphorylation were evaluated. It was shown that:(1) oocytes at various maturational stages could be penetrated by sperm;(2) sperm penetration did not affect meiotic cell cycle progression;(3) sperm penetration of germinal vesicle oocytes and maturing oocytes did not alter MAPK phosphorylation; and (4) when premetaphase I and metaphase I oocytes, in which MAPK was activated, were fertilised, no evident MAPK dephosphorylation was detected as in metaphase II oocytes.

They are earthquake magnitude, peak ground surface acceleration, standard penetration value, specific penetration resistance, relative compaction, average particle diameter, and water table. The extension assessment model has been established that was applied to assessment of sand liquefaction potential. The model had been trained by the historical data and has been assessed in virtue of sand liquefaction from the historical data by simulating, and got a excellent result. After introduction of the support vector machine theory, this paper established the assessment model of sand liquefaction based on the support vector machine, and assessed in sand liquefaction from virtue data of some fields in home and overseas with the tool Libsvm, which was programmed based on the support vector machine theory. And got a good coherency between the assessement results and the actual liquefaction.
