Abstract〕in network environments,information services and core works of university libraries have alternated,while the cataloging of university libraries has changed,which characterizes the socialization of cataloging service,diversification of cataloging objects,and normalization and standardization of cataloging data.catalogers have to perform their new roles such as quality control for cataloging data,cataloging of non-book resources, and building special databases.in order to adapt to the new demand in the library's cataloging,catalogers should transform their roles,improve their special quality,and be active in innovation.

摘 要〕网络环境下，高校图书馆信息服务功能和核心业务的发生转变，编目工作也向编目服务的社会化、编目对象的多元化和编目数据的规范化和标准化等方向发展。编目人员的职能转向书目数据的质量控制、非书资源的编目、特色数据库的建设与信息服务等新的领域。编目人员必须调整专业知识结构，提高业务水平，才能适应网络环境下编目工作的要求。
