The indication for proximal femoral replacement was a periprosthetic fracture in twenty patients, reimplantation because of a deep infection in thirteen, a failed arthroplasty in thirteen, nonunion of an intertrochanteric fracture in one, and radiation-induced osteonecrosis with a subtrochanteric fracture in one.
