The harm extent of Dendrolimus tabulaeformis and D. spectabilis were analyzed by fourteen forest factors, from which four significant ones were selected: crown density, altitude, average diameter at breast height and MLP. MLP is a new parameter suggested in this paper. It is better than diversity index to the harm extent, and it can indicate some information on not only the under story plant species diversity but the forest environment.
