A new type in-situ reinforcing Cr7C3 ceramal composite coating was fabricated on carbon steel(C3) substrate by plasma cladding. Microstructure of the ceramal composite coating was characterized by SEM, XRD and EDS. Room and high temperature wear properties were evaluated under dry sliding wear test conditions and their wear mechanism was discussed.

The plasma clad ceramal composite coating consistsed of primary Cr7C3 and Cr7C3/γ-Fe eutectics. The coating possessed excellent sliding wear resistance under both room and high temperature test conditions.

结果表明：涂层的相组成是Cr7C3增强相和γ-Fe固溶体与少量Cr7C3构成的共晶；涂层在室温和高温干滑动磨擦条件下均具有优良的耐磨性能。
