Luo combines Ni's specialty composition of farness and western perspective of depth to create a vast but depressive landscape. The crabwise path in the orchard tilts the canvas and vertical paths pull the viewers into the unknown. The simplified, dry strokes make the greeny but silent orchard - there is no balm of apples but only the endless horizon.
