In the study of the stochastic chaos in simple pendulum, the random Melnikov process is derived and the mean-square criterion is used to determine the threshold amplitude of the bounded noise excitation for the onset of the chaos or random chaos in the system. For the coupled simple pendulum and harmonic oscillator, the Melnikov function is used to determine the condition for the onset of chaos in the case of Hamiltonian perturbations. In the case of non-Hamiltonian perturbation, the generalized random Melnikov process and mean-square criterion are used to determine the threshold amplitude of the bounded noise for the onset of random chaos.

In this thesis, the methods for solving eigenvalue problems and conventional reanalysis methods are studied firstly. Then, a new reanalysis method for real modal reanalysis of structures subjected to topological modification with added degrees of freedom is presented. This method is composed of the single step perturbation method and the Rayleigh-quotient iteration. The numerical examples show that this reanalysis method is very effective and high-quality.

A novel method for the measurement of insulin-link growth factor I with capillary zone electrophoresis was developed. The molecular interaction between IGF-I and its polyclonal antibody was primarily studied with immunocapillary electrophoresis and the binding constant was determined. The work shows the possibility of applying CE to immuno-analysis, which could be a new clinical analytical method for diagnosis, treatment and monitoring for the endocritic and metabolic diseases.

Determination of SNase-DNA and Archaea protein-DNA complex structures are in progress.
