为了应付不断上升的客量需求，新加坡的巴士营运商不惜千方百计，引入载客量更高的巴士；新捷运於早年引进的"Super Bus"十二米双层空调巴士，就是其中一个成功的例子。

These included the unique 1301, Plaxton body B6LE 1304 and 1305, all ALX200 body B6LE and Plaxton Pointer dual doors designed body B6LE, most of the B6 were shipped back to UK and continue their service life in Stagecoach subsidies while only 10 Plaxton Pointer dual doors designed body can be found in New Zealand.

可惜的是，由於受到车队限额的规限，加上大量猛狮单层巴士之投入服务，以及替新的丹尼士三叉戟巴士出牌，城巴只好於二零零零年至二零零一年放弃部份B6，当中包括独一无二的1301，车队编号1304及1305，全数ALX200及Plaxton Pointer双门车身B6LE，大部份B6LE都是被运返英国，在Stagecoach的巴士公司继续服务乘客，只有十架Plaxton Pointer双门车身B6LE被运往Stagecoach於纽西兰的公司服务乘客。

The first B6 was commissioned in 1995 and it was a B6R with Alexander Dash bodywork, this bus was also the first air-con single-decker in the franchised fleet. The bus was numbered as 1301 and deployed on route 76. It was not only the sole bus fitted with Alexander Dash body in Hong Kong but also the sole B6R in Hong Kong.

全港首架富豪B6是於一九九五年投入服务，型号为B6R，编号1301，配上了由亚历山大提供之Dash车身，这亦是城巴专利车队中首架单层空调巴士，在投入服务后被编往76线行走，而1301也成为全港唯一一架配亚历山大Dash车身之单层巴士及唯一一架富豪B6R巴士。

During 1990, as air-conditioned bus services were widely welcomed by passengers, the 24 seats minibuses cannot meet the demand. A batch of Mitsubishi MK117J midi air-con. single-deckers were introduced by KMB to provide a much comfortable service and to satisfy the demand. All MK117J were fitted with Mitsubishi bodyworks.
