This paper is focused on the preparation, characterization of metal clusters and theircatalytic performance in the enantioselective as well as stereoselective hydrogenations. It iscomposed of the five parts as follows: Chapter 1 A review was given on the two most studied enantioselective systems—Ni/TA and Pt/cinchona system, including some recent progress.

The nonlinear dynamic equations including the initial geometric imperfections of laminated composite cylindrical shells were derived from Hamilton's philosophy. Assuming the transverse displacements to be composed of axially symmetrical part and axially asymmetrical part, the governing equations expressed as displacement forms of dynamic buckling were obtained by Galerkin method. The equations were solved by finite difference method. The effects of impact velocity, lamination angle, initial geometric imperfection on the axial dynamic buckling of laminated composite cylindrical shells were discussed.

Our investigation has shown that:ⅰ there was an interference effect between the incident and reflected matter waves as all the atoms in BECs were coherent;ⅱ considering the rotation of a vortex, the nonuniform velocity distribution along the surface would play an important role in the quantum reflection process. For example, they would change the characteristics of the interference fringes between the incident and reflected matter waves;ⅲ the reflected vortex became unstable for sufficiently low incident velocity or strong interaction. This sort of instability physically originated from dynamics excitations induced by the atomic interaction in the quantum reflection process.

Our study rules out the effect of strain and composition alloying as the main factor of peak splitting. We attributed it to the existence of large amount of non-stoichiometry part in GaN/Si grown by MBE. A direct proof has been observed by HRTEM, which shows that the propagation of dislocations in the underlying layers could be blocked by using periodic AlN/GaN structure.
