The stress and stability analysis of arch dam and abutment are the main task of traditional arch dam design. Nowadays there are two kinds of analysis method to use. One method is the arch-cantilever load-distribution method, in which the arch dam stress and abutment thrust are calculated, while the stability of abutment is evaluated by rigid body method or other method. The other is FEM method, which evaluates the arch dam stress and stability of abutment at the same time.

Authors designed four mixtures of dense-graded asphalt stabilized macadam base with the method recommended by Technical Specifications for Construction of Highway Asphalt Pavement, Superpave design method, coarse aggregate voids filling method and Bailey method separately, and determined the pavement performances of asphalt stabilized macadam base mixture under the optimal oil-stone rate which include resistance capacity to vertical deformation and fatigue. Then, four design methods were compared and appraised. Based on the above study, a new asphalt-stabilized macadam base mixture gradation design method-five control sieve design method was put forward.

Based on the Saint-venant equations describing the channel flow movement, the nonlinear algebraic equations derived by the use of Preissmann weighted implicit four-point scheme are solved with the Netwon-Raphson method. A combined Gauss main-element elimination method with compress-storage technique is proposed. The relaxation iterative method for solving branch river networks is extended, which can turn the problem of any complex river networks into the problem of a series of single rivers. The coupling of hydraulic model with water quality model is built up. The combined model was applied to a large complicated river networks with numerical hydraulic structure which influenced by strong tide, storm and heave rain. Visualization of computational results is realized by means of MapInfo, which displays the computational results in fast, convenient and accurate way.

A new SVM is presented in this paper to solve the approximately linear separable problem of pattern recognition:First,we transform the two convex hulls which are made up of the approximately separable training set to make them separable;Second,we can figure out a separating hyperplane by halving the nearest points method or maximal margin method;Then,we get the approximately linear SVM by solving the dual problem of maximal margin method.
