本文提出了城市广场中座椅设施可持续性设计的思想，从广场上人们的行为特性、广场的空间特质、人机工程学在座椅设施中的应用等不同角度，论述了座椅设施在广场中的布局及座椅设施本身的设计特点，分析了现有广场座椅存在的主要问题，提出在未来设计中应进一步改进设计，从以人为本的高度出发，着重考虑家具产品环境属性，使城市广场的座椅设施形式多样化，将对人的关怀融入广场设计的每个方面，设计出充满人情味的城市广场座椅。
