At age 25 his elbows and knees became swollen and painful. He was admitted to a local hospital and found to hae lytic lesions in the mandible, claicles and patellae; bone biopsies were nondiagnostic and cultures were negatie for bacteria, fungus and TB. At age 27 he deeloped pain and restricted motion in the temporomandibular joints.
