The traditional pin-cycloid planetary drive has a series of essential advantages such as small volume, light weight, wide range of speed ratio, high efficiency, and quiet operating as well. On the other hand, it has a natural weak point that the tumbler bearing, which supports the cycloidal gear on the arm is placed inside the cycloidal gear, therefore the size of the bearing is restricted due to the geometry of the gear.
