For evaluation of the existing buildings, many domestic scholars and those abroad have made many researches and experience in practice which lack of comprehensive evaluation index system, and these evaluations are mainly focused on a particular aspect of building, for example: building materials, built environment, building quality, groundsill, esthetics appraisal, and so on. But a reasonable evaluation for existing buildings does not merely concentrate on one aspect of buildings, it should be a comprehensive evaluation to provide as far as possible accurate reference for the building maintenance or the possible reform.

This study would focus on the usability evaluation of the interaction system, JoinNet, which is the most popular synchronous learning system on the market. Three approaches adopted in this study were user's hands-on test, heuristic evaluation, and questionnaires. Based on Nielsen's five usability features, learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction, as the evaluation criteria, this study intended to assess the interface usability and find out the potential problems of JoinNet. According to the results of the usability evaluation, the researcher would provide suggestions for interaction system designers.
