The shoaling wave height is related to wave steepness. Comparing with wave theories the shoaling coefficient of small amplitude wave theory_ which is not related to wave steepness, disagrees with experimental reset. The experimental result has the trend with Stokes third order shoaling theory, but Stokes wave theory overestimates the shoaling coefficient .
