In April, the dominant species characterized with slow growth, lower biomass, and less than 30 cm height; in July those who grow faster with higher biomass and height became dominant; In September, these malignant communities reduced, while the oxalis and diffusa characterized with lower biomass and low height gradually increased. In the three seasons, the weed abundance, community diversity and evenness increased, and the dominance, the biomass and average height of weeds remarkably reduced after intercropping white clover and muching straw.

Three different species of the protein can be isolated from leaves of pokeweed. Proteins were precipitated with 50-80% ammonium sulfate from leaves in spring, summer and autumn respectively. Proteins were purified on SP cation-exchange then on MQ anion-exchange and finally on MS cation-exchange or on MQ anion-exchange. We found that some new pokeweed antiviral proteins separated from these leaves were different from PAP, PAPII and PAPIII.

At the same time, we studied population dynamics of seed-eating rodents in the autumn and the following spring. The results showed that, without enclosure protection, most of the seeds were predated due to high predation pressure in the autumn. The paper studied the physiological characteristics of the leaves of Cotinus coggygria Royal Purple with different colors in autumn. Three kinds of leaf colors were selected to measure the contents of chlorophyll, anthocyanin, phenylalanin ammo-nialyase activity and the water content in the leaves. The results showed that the leaves exhibited red if it had lower chlorophyll content, higher activities of PAL and higher content of anthocyanin. The green leaves had higher chlorophyll content, lower activity of PAL, less content of anthocyanin.
